The most gentle for little babies is Roman Chamomile. Always dilute 1-3 drops of essential oil per 1 Tablespoon of carrier oil (virgin or fractionated coconut oil, olive, sweet almond, jojoba, etc) and 1-3 drops of essential oil per 1 teaspoon for children and adults. |
Reasons to try something Other stuff that isn't good |
COLDS: Diffuse 2 drops of melaleuca, lemon, or lavender at bedtime and again during the day. Mix 1 drop of melaleuca, demon, or lavender with 1 Tablespoon carrier oil; use a small amount to massage upper chest and back at each diaper change. |
|
COLIC: Mix 1 drop of lavender with 1 Tablespoon carrier oil. Gently massage on a few drops into the abdomen, stroking clockwise to follow the direction of the colon. |

Calming: Dilute Lavender, or Serenity and apply the the feet and on your chest if you are holding them to promote relaxation. You can wipe extra oils on their blanket/clothes and Fractionated Coconut oil does not stain but you don't need to dilute if you are adding oils to a clothe or blanket. Unless it's a stronger oil you are using. |

Ears: Dilute lavender and melaleuca and apply around the ear (never put oils IN the ear) frequently, massaging down towards the lymph nodes to encourage drainage. You can also use the diluted oils on a cotton ball placed in the ear – use a bandaid to help keep it in place. *Please always supervise your baby when using a cotton ball and/or bandaid to make sure they do not get either into their mouths. |

Skin: Dilute 1 drop of each of Lavender and Melaleuca in unrefined or fractionated coconut oil or Lanolin (I love lanolin for rashes and dry skin!) to soothe the skin. Apply each time you change their diaper. I like to use a glass spray bottle for this. Use damp, soft paper towels to wipe or rinse your wipes well before using to avoid any further irritating the rash with chemicals. |
